Thank you to each 2019 delegate for your ongoing commitment to the AAO. The House of Delegates (HOD) will meet on May 3, 2019 and May 6, 2019 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles concurrent with the AAO Annual Session. You will find more details pertaining to the House on the attached schedule.

The Official dress of the House of Delegates is: Business. Wi-Fi access will be available in both meetings.

The HOD Book of Reports will be available on the AAO website on or before April 19, 2019. An email will go out to delegates letting you know when everything is ready. The site will feature the Book of Reports in its traditional online format minus the resolutions.

Last year, we created an easier navigation framework focused exclusively on the resolutions and stated that this will become the single resource for reviewing and commenting on resolutions beginning in 2019. The online comments will be treated as testimony for Reference Committee consideration, and the commenting feature will be turned off at midnight on May 2, 2019. Access the online testimony here.

Delegates & Alternates: If you need to make a change to your delegation (cancellation or substitution), please click here to make updates.

Policy Acknowledgement Forms:  As is customary, delegates/alternate delegates are required to acknowledge certain AAO policies and disclose any conflicts-of-interest before being admitted to the floor of the House. These forms are available online and must be completed before the HOD meetings. If you have not already done so for the 2018-19 fiscal year (June 1-May 31), please click here to access and electronically sign each form. You must indicate your role as delegate, even if you previously signed in a different capacity (e.g. council/committee member). If you have any trouble with these forms, please contact Sarah Goode at [email protected] or 314-292-6519.

HOD Deadlines: The deadline to submit reports and resolutions is Wednesday, April 3, 2019. Resolution and Report Forms can be found here.

Parliamentary Authority: Effective July 1, 2012, the AAO’s authority for parliamentary procedure was updated as the American Institute of Parliamentarians Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure. This edition draws on much of the same philosophy as our previous parliamentary authority, Alice Sturgis’ American Institute of Parliamentarians Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure.
