Attendees at the 31st Annual Graduate Orthodontic Residents Program (GORP) will enjoy a variety of clinical and scientific lectures, social activities and sight-seeing as well as the opportunity to visit the AAO headquarters.

GORP 2019 will be Thursday, July 25 – Sunday, July 28 at St. Louis’ Union Station Hotel, drawing approximately 500 orthodontic residents from the United States and Canada. A long-time sponsor of GORP, the AAO this year contributed $75,000 in support of the meeting.

AAO leaders and staff look forward to welcoming GORP attendees to the Friday evening reception at the AAO headquarters in suburban St. Louis. In between enjoying games, refreshments and entertainment, be sure to take the tour of the building and receive a ticket redeemable for a free gift.

Following the reception the AAO is sponsoring a GORP outing at Topgolf, a restaurant and bar featuring golf simulation experiences.

Speaking during the next two days at the Union Station Hotel will be Drs. Sean Carlson, Neil Kravitz, Cole Johnson, Greg Jorgensen, Maz Moshiri and Andy Hayes.  Representatives of the American Board of Orthodontics and the AAO Foundation will brief attendees on ABO board certification and applying for research support from the AAOF.

Orthodontic leaders addressing attendees will include Dr. Gary Inman, AAO president. AAO Council on New and Younger Members Chair Dr. Trista Felty will also speak to the group.

The AAO is sponsoring a TapSnap digital photo booth during the GORP banquet on Saturday evening.  Have your photo taken with digital and physical props and receive printouts.

Prizes Will Include a 2020 AAO Annual Session Package
Visit the AAO booth to get answers to your questions about AAO resources for residents and receive fun give-ways.  Attendees who are AAO members – or who register for membership on-site – may enter a drawing to win one of 20 Yeti Rambler bottles.

On Sunday, winners of the GORP raffle will be announced.  The AAO has donated a 2020 Annual Session package to the raffle including a four-night stay at the headquarters hotel, free registration and tickets to the Excellence luncheon, Opening Ceremonies and AAO Celebration (a $1,000-plus value).
