Expert speakers will offer in-depth knowledge of how to assess the potential impact of new technologies on your practice’s bottom line at the 2017 Winter Conference, February 10-11 in Fort Lauderdale. Working closely with AAO President DeWayne McCamish, Drs. Greg Jorgensen, Alan Curtis and Doug Depew planned the meeting, “Technology: Balancing Profit, Lifestyle, and Patient Care.”
Attendees will leave the conference with a better idea of not only what is the newest thing, but also a grasp of what technology makes sense for their individual practices,” says Dr. Jorgensen, the conference general chair. “Not only are we going to explore the most popular technologies on the market today, we’re going to try and answer return on investment types of questions. We know that optical scanners are great, but do we understand the total cost of ownership and do need one in our practice today? Is it cost-effective to invest in cone beam? 3D printing is exciting, but what are the convenience and financial implications of printing models in house? This will be a different meeting than any we’ve ever held.
“If you haven’t been to a Winter Conference before, you will enjoy the focused learning environment of this smaller meeting,” adds Dr. Jorgensen. “Following each lecture block, there will be a Q and A session to allow attendees the opportunity to solicit feedback about their individual situations or concerns.”
Abbreviated Schedule Allows for Travel, Recreation
In addition, a new, abbreviated schedule is being introduced at this year’s Winter Conference.
“We decided to shorten the program from two and a half days to two days,” says Dr. Jorgensen. “Attendees will have a full day for travel on Sunday if they need to be back at work first thing on Monday. Or, if they can take a little time off, they’ll have an extra day for some relaxation and entertainment in Fort Lauderdale.”
